Our Story
Built by friends for friends

Founded in 1984 by two best friends, Greg McAint and Chris Notters, NotaCafe was built with hard work and sweat, but never coffee beans. Greg and Chris hate coffee. They never wanted a business, but the business wanted them — so the business was built.

Six years later, in 2002, Nota Cafe was making $2 Million in annual revenue. Notters decided to sell off his shares and buy into the pharmaceutical industry, but eventually came back to run the company when McAint pursued his dream of winning American Idol.

McAint didn’t win the competition, but a bond was formed stronger than ever before after realizing he could trust Notters. To this day, Notters and McAint still trust each other and personally select each bean that doesn’t go into our grinders.

In 2012, two new locations were opened. Greg and Chris cloned themselves and can be found in the vents of each location, hidden, performing security operations.
